Smiths Detection Launches New Ultra Compact Mobile Screening System for Vehicle Checkpoints

Smiths Detection today launches the new ultra compact mobile X-Ray screening solution, HCVM e35, for inspecting whole trucks, containers, and vehicles for threats such as explosives, drugs and contraband.

The HCVM e35 series is particularly suited for small areas, where space is limited, such as busy city environments, ports, borders, airports and high profile sporting events where a mobile, high performing and cost-effective solution is required. The flexible system is available in two variants; offering mobile, pass-through and occupied vehicle scanning modes, for use in any location.

The powerful 4MeV accelerator deliversX-Ray images through as much as 200mm of steel, resulting in improved efficiency and reliable analysis results.

Ian May, Senior Vice President of Sales of Smiths Detection, said: “The HCVM e35 series will allow our customers to scan vehicles and analyse high quality image results anywhere, anytime.”

HCVM e35 will be launched at the MILIPOL 2013 exhibition in France, alongside two other new products: HCVL light vehicle scanner and ACE-ID handheld, non-contact explosives, narcotics and toxic chemical identifier.
