Smiths Detection’s global presence, combined with strong relationships with distributors and representatives, provides customers with sales and service support around the world. We have manufacturing facilities established in France, Germany, Malaysia, the UK and USA, with some of these also serving as R&D centres of excellence. Sales and Service centres in 17 countries to provide global coverage.
Jerome de Chassey joined Smiths Group in 2016 as General Manager for Smiths Detection’s India operations. He was appointed to Vice President APAC in 2018 and Middle East in 2019. In 2021, Jerome became Vice President for Commercial at Smiths Detection and he was appointed as President of Smiths Detection in March 2024. Jerome’s career has seen him work across the US, EMEA and APAC regions, gaining significant experience in strategy, innovation and growth acceleration. A former strategy consultant with Bain & Company, he also held several leadership positions in general management, sales, service delivery, operation and marketing with BT Group, the UK-based telecom operator, as well as Alstom (now Schneider Electric), the global power equipment manufacturer.

Nick Hatfield joins Smiths Detection as Vice President of Finance. Nick previously served in various strategic finance roles at many business services spearheading global initiatives and leading the design of a comprehensive business intelligence platform. Nick’s earlier roles include Head of Accounting & External Reporting at Roche, and Group and Financial Controller at Capital & Regional.
Luc Gaillet moved to Smiths Detection HR team from group in 2014 as HR Business Partner and was appointed Vice President of Human Resources in May 2024. Prior to this, Luc held multiple positions with us and worked at Air France for more than 10 years.

Prior to joining Smiths Detection in 2016, Richard spent 8 years working in varying global GM roles in Honeywell’s process controls division and 6 years as MD.

Inder Reddy joined Smiths Detection in April 2022 from Resideo Technologies, Inc. He previously held various leadership positions within Honeywell and The Boston Consulting Group. Inder holds an MBA from The Wharton School, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India.
Matt Clark joined Smiths Detection in 2003, being appointed Vice President, Commercial in July 2024. He has extensive experience in technology and product development, and project management. Prior to joining Smiths Detection, Matt had a 7 year career in the Australian Navy as an Electronics Engineer.

Gabriele joined the Smiths Detection legal team in 2008 as Associate General Counsel and was appointed General Counsel in August 2023. Prior to joining Smiths Detection, Gabriele spent 10 years working as a lawyer in private practice at major international law firms in Frankfurt, Germany and Washington D.C.
Alain joined Smiths Detection as the Chief Financial Officer in August 2017 and is appointed as the Vice President, Service in August 2024. Alain held a number of positions within Smiths Group before joining us and served at British Airways for 9 years.

Phaedra was appointed Master Blackbelt in 2024 expanding her role to include Sustainability and the Health, Safety and Environment teams. She joined Smiths Detection in 2021 as the Global Service Training Director. Prior to joining Smiths Detection Phaedra spent 17 years in the UK Royal Navy before spending eight years working in the commercial Defence and Security sector.
