Smiths Group VP of Government Relations Elected First Chair of Security Manufacturers Coalition

Smiths Detection today announced that Elizabeth “Sissy” Pressnell, Vice President of Government Relations for Smiths Group, has been elected as the 2013 Chair of the Security Manufacturers Coalition (SMC).

The SMC comprises nine leading security screening and technology manufacturers in the U.S. who supply equipment to public and private organizations worldwide.

Sissy has a strong background in the nexus of security technology and public policy that will help ensure the SMC is able to bring the full perspective of the industry to policymakers at a critical time.”

Pressnell joined Smiths Group in 2011 as the VP of Government Relations. With over 20 years combined Capitol Hill and related federal government relations experience, Pressnell has developed special expertise in the federal appropriations and authorization process, regulatory issues, and procurement.
