Smiths Detection today announces a $10.2 million order from a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office for its next-generation, self-calibrating radiation detection system, RadSeeker.

Used by Customs and Border Protection (CBP), emergency responders and law enforcement agents around the world, the hand-held RadSeeker locates the source of radiological material. Unlike other systems, its enhanced capability distinguishes radiological and nuclear threats from naturally occurring radiation or other legitimate everyday radiological materials.
The bridge contract is from the DHS’s Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO).
