Consolidating screening operations into a central hub through wide-area-networks delivers substantial operational efficiency gains.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the pressure on air cargo shippers and airports to improve operational efficiency to deliver profitable growth while keeping their operations safe. Currently, security screening operations are mostly conducted on a site-by-site basis, with each site being manned by externally appointed or inhouse security staff. With varying volumes and peak demand times the overall screener utilisation rates are often low and not optimised.
This inefficiency results in a substantial operational expense, due to the high cost of labour in many countries. In addition to this, there are also often very limited performance data insights available, which reduces the chance to identify and remove inefficiencies further.
Consolidating screening operations into one location to deliver screening analysis for all sites is one potential solution to this productivity challenge.
