State Senator Bob Cassilly tours Smiths Detection Inc. U.S. HQ in Edgewood, MD

Smiths Detection Inc. (SDI) today welcomed Maryland State Senator Bob Cassilly on a tour of its U.S. headquarters in Edgewood, MD, where he also addressed employees. SDI designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of products to support and protect the U.S. military, first responders and homeland security.

State Sen. Cassilly is an Army veteran. Before being elected state senator, he served in the Departments of State and Defense, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Iraq.

After his tour Sen. Cassilly said, “Continued growth in the fields of threat detection and identification technology is not only critical to both the Maryland and U.S. economies, it is vital to the world’s safety and security. Our state values companies like SDI, who use innovation and partnership with government and other customers to defend and protect us all.”
