Smiths Detection is introducing a new live virtual training program for its threat detection and screening technologies to provide an innovative digital learning solution that adapts to the evolving needs of its customers. These new live training programs will be led by Smiths Detection training professionals at its U.S. headquarters in Edgewood, Maryland.
Michael Mini, Vice President, Service Operations & Delivery, said: “Smiths Detection built its reputation as the world’s leader in threat detection and screening technologies on an exceptional combination of cutting-edge technology and best-in-class training and service. This new live virtual training program will provide immediate value to our customers impacted by COVID-19 restrictions and will ultimately become a permanent component of the comprehensive training benefits we provide.”
Smiths Detection is a recognized leader in training customers on the use of its market-leading threat detection and screening technologies. The new live virtual training program will be conducted like a live virtual classroom on the Adobe Connect platform. Led by experienced moderators and instructors, the live virtual training sessions will range in length from half-day to full day with breakout sessions that feature smaller group interactive activities and exercises. The Adobe platform will enable the integration of video clips and visuals of equipment, graphics and diagrams.
Although initially provided to assist customers who cannot participate in in-person training sessions, the new live virtual training program will ultimately become a permanent feature of Smiths Detection’s overall blended learning solution. Customers in the future will have access to a combination of eLearning, live virtual classroom training, and on-site hands-on practice sessions with a certified Smiths Detection trainer.
