Reaping the benefits of automation

Complying with European Explosives Detection Systems for Cabin Baggage regulations is mandatory – the choice lies in the level (C1, C2 or C3) and implementation. Each level offers a different degree of automation; C1 and C2 can be can achieved using conventional X-ray scanners; but C3 demands the latest in explosive detection systems (EDS).  This paper gives an overview of the available options and the factors to consider when looking for an appropriate upgrade path.
