The Baggage & freight section includes X-ray systems for the non-intrusive inspection of goods measuring between 900 x 760 mm and 1300 x 1000 mm. A main search criterion is the maximum size of the objects to be inspected.

Besides stand-alone configurations Smiths Detection offers mobile inspection systems such as the ScanMobile and ScanTrailer, which represent X-ray systems housed in trailers or vans for highly flexible use in different locations.
