Smiths Detection has invested over $500m on R&D in the last 10 years on radiation detection and other technology areas. We continue to work with leading organizations like the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO), Department of Energy (DoE) National Laboratories, the UK Health Protection Agency (HPA) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Through the development of radiation detection technology and the integration of radiation sensors into products such as our Heimann CargoVision (HCV) line of cargo inspection systems, we have gained a clear insight into requirements needed to help protect, safeguard and respond to this threat across the globe.
