Explosives detection (liquids)

Since the foiled 2006 plot to blow up airplanes from London to the United States and Canada with liquid explosives, airplane passengers have not been able to bring more than 3.4 ounces (100 ml) of liquids in their carry-on luggage.

Smiths Detection has developed screening technologies that detect the presence of threat liquids in luggage, carry-on baggage and individual bottles. These systems can also be used at security checkpoints at special events, high profile facilities and government buildings.

HI-SCAN 6040aX - The EU Standard 1 Type C approved HI-SCAN 6040aX multi-view X-ray inspection system can distinguish threat liquids from benign liquids when such items are scanned in security bins. [more]

HI-SCAN 6040aTiX - The EU Standard 2 Type C approved HI-SCAN 6040aTiX multi-view X-ray inspection system can distinguish threat liquids from benign liquids when such items are scanned in security bins. [more]
