Smiths Detection Receives First Order for New Cargo Inspection System HI-SCAN 250250 From Australian Customs
Wiesbaden, 9 agosto 2004 - Smiths Detection, the world’s leading provider of X-ray and trace detection equipment, today announced it has received the first order for its newly introduced cargo X-ray system HI-SCAN 250250 from the Australian Customs Service. The system will be deployed at a new Customs facility at the Port of Adelaide, South Australia, with project completion by year’s end.
Hans Linkenbach, President of Smiths Detection International, said “We are extremely pleased that the Australian Customs Service purchased this state-of-the art cargo X-ray inspection system to especially enhance its scrutiny of transfer and export cargo to meet the expectations of trading partners. The HI-SCAN 250250 CAB (Dual View) is a large tunnel cabinet X-ray inspection system, which facilitates the fast detection of illegal freight and checks loading spaces effortlessly. Its Dual View configuration provides superior X-ray images to operators, allowing them a much greater capability to detect contraband and threat items than ever before.”
The HI-SCAN 250250 is a medium energy (2500kV) X-ray system that is well suited for the inspection of palletized and containerized air and sea cargo. Typically this system finds application at customs checkpoints and related facilities. The HI-SCAN 250250 is available in single and dual view configuration, the single being easily upgradeable to the dual view mode if required.
