The Bio-Seeq is a molecular diagnostic platform that delivers rapid laboratory quality test results in any clinical environment with minimal user intervention. It includes a desktop clinical instrument, a disposable Sample Preparation Unit, and a range of sophisticated assays.

The briefcase sized instrument is optimised for use in near patient testing environments.

Features of the instrument include:
• 5 or more independent thermocyclers
• Fully automated sample preparation and analysis (“sample in, answer out”)
• Rapid sample preparation and testing (60-90 minutes sample to result)
• Touch screen display.
• Requires little training and no expertise in microbiology to operate.
• Can be integrated with medical data systems


This integrated platform redefines the “sample in….answer out” concept.

The core technology is almost fully developed and the clinical instrument is expected to be available for clinical trials in early 2009.

The Bio-Seeq SPU accepts a wide range of solid and liquid samples including blood, vesicular tissue, swabs etc. It includes all the chemicals needed to extract and purify DNA or RNA and can be stored at room temperature.
Once the sample is introduced, no further operator intervention is required.
