      When a Response team is called upon to deal with a potentially dangerous or toxic substance, the first and most crucial question is: "What is this substance?" The portable HazMatID chemical identifier answers this question in seconds. 

      The HazMatID is a highly specific tool that measures how chemical samples interact with infrared light. Each chemical has its own unique infrared fingerprint, which when analyzed by the HazMatID is compared against an onboard library database to provide identification in less than 20 seconds.

      Environmental Features The system is waterproof to allow it to pass through the decon line. The beam splitter uses a ZnSe substrate, which is resistant to environmental conditions encountered in the field.
      Operating Ranges Operational in extreme weather and temperatures ranging from  -7°C to 50°C (19°F to 122°F). Humidity ranging from 0-100%.
      User Interface The HazMatID software is a streamlined, touch-screen
      application. Specifically designed to be easy-to-use but very powerful in its capability, a complete identification of an unknown simply requires the user to advance each screen as it is presented. Network enabled. Requires security authorization to access. Windows® operating system.
