- Gives an audible and visual alarm at a pre-selected threshold
Additional highlights
- Gives fault displays in the event of a CAM/FAM system failure
- FAM is compatible with the CAM simulator; CAMSIM
The role of the CAM chemical agent monitor can be extended with the addition of a Field Alarm Module (FAM). This equipment has been designed to address the need for a local sentry alarm, enabling the CAM monitor to be used in its original role as a hand-held monitor, as well as a sentry alarm.
Powered by a lithium battery, the alarm unit operates by using serial data from the rear socket of CAM. FAM increases the operational flexibility of CAM by giving a remote alarm at a pre-selected level and continuously indicating the increase or decrease in the vapour threat level.
The CAM/FAM combination is easily carried and deployed. This allows the CAM monitor to use its detection capabilities to the full, meeting the requirement for operational detection and monitoring equipments in one instrument. This combination reduces the cost, logistics and man-power.
FAM is fully compatible with CAM-SIM, allowing effective training to be completed.
CAM and FAM are trade marks of Smiths Detection
