Operator training courses serve to train operators in the proper and most effective use of the equipment. These courses can be provided as a classroom session either at Smiths Detection premises or at customers' sites. The effectiveness of a security installation depends on two main factors:  technology and operator's skills. The usage of reliable leading edge technology is core for all Smiths Detection products. Skills of the operators involved can be significantly enhanced by joining our operator training courses.

Besides classroom sessions Smiths Detection now offers online operator training courses. This kind of course offers a maximum of flexibility to our customers. Once the course is booked, customers can decide when a particular operator should take the course. Shift plans, weekends or the availability of personnel are not a problem any more. Working on the course can be interrupted at any time and resumed later. The course content covers all topics regarding system start, shutdown, operation and safety. While designing our operator online courses we implemented a lot of interactive parts giving the trainee a chance to act instead of just read information. At the end a certificate is issued to document a successfully passed course.

Technical training courses are designed to match the needs of service personnel. All tasks necessary to install, maintain and repair  a unit are covered. The course contents match our service concepts. Therefore topics that are relevant to maintenance like parts lists, documentation and training are handled consistently. Technical training courses are preferably conducted at Smiths Detection premises. However, on-site courses can also be organized provided that the necessary prerequisites are given. By their nature, some courses contain a section that has to be conducted at customers' premises to support the as-built character of a particular installation.
